The chance to go camping is often one of the reasons girls choose to join Girl Scouts. Audubon Council offers a variety of camping opportunities at Camp Marydale, as well as, information on other camp sites. Camping can help girls development important life skills that are necessary to successfully handle various age level challenges. Living and working as a group allows campers to put into practice important decision-making and problem solving skills. The council is committed to the reinforcement of positive life skills in all its camp programs.
Four program goals serve as the foundation for all the materials, activities, and initiatives that are developed for Girl Scouting. They are as follows:
1. Girls will develop to their full potential
2. Girls will relate to others with increasing understanding, skill and respect.
3. Girls will develop a meaningful set of values to guide their actions and to provide the foundation for sound decision-making.
4. Girls will contribute to the improvement of society through the use of their abilities and leadership skills, working in cooperation with others.
