Programs available Daisy, Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts through Program Power:
Brownies will be encouraged to "break a leg" while earning their ''Let's Pretend" Try-It. Budding young actors will participate in a variety of fun theatre games, provided by Drama Kids International, which are designed to encourage kids to speak clearly, act confidently, and participate fully. Brownies will participate in miming, large and small group improvisation, scene starters, and breathing and voice projection exercises. Additionally, paying homage to the important role masks have played in theater history the girls will create a character and a mask for that character.

Join us for a fun-filled day at Audubon State Historic Site, in which girls can participate in many different outdoor activities. The girls will be earning the "Watching Wildlife" Try-It. Activities will include: animal talk, animal architects, an ant adventure and the observation of earthworms. They will also see barn animals and play animal games. Girls will also take a tour of historic Oakley House. Bring a sack lunch.

Young actors don't have to be drawn to the limelight to earn their "Create and Invent" Theater Badges. This workshop, taught by Drama Kids International, is for everyone, from the naturally outgoing to the relatively shy child, Fun theatre games focus on skills that encourage kids to speak clearly and act confidently while exploring aspects of theatre and theatre production. Juniors will perform mirror mimics, character charades, vocal manipulations, and articulation exercises. Additionally, Drama Kids teachers will explore the importance of theatre props and the history of masks, and the girls will create props and masks while conceptualizing a character that might use them.

Unfortunately, you can feel stressed out over many things: moving, starting a new school, or fighting with a friend. In this class you will learn about more sources of stress, how you can manage it, and even how to make stress work for you, not against you! Learn how to control your stress rather than have it control you!! Come get the answers to all these questions and more. A pizza lunch will be provided. Bring a bath size towel and a small pillow. Pink birds with bills shaped like, spoons, birds painted with all the colors of the rainbow, purple birds with red and yellow bills, even some endangered birds ...over 400 species of birds live and pass through Louisiana. And many of them can be seen in and around Baton Rouge. Come learn about these birds and how and where to find them. Each session will include a presentation with pictures, video, and educational information and an outdoor bird watching expedition! Binoculars and field guides will be available on a limited basis to borrow — You are encouraged to bring your own.
